This is a placeholder for my official bizniz post, wherein I will eventually explain that, although this is mostly an icon journal, I'm also going to post random shit like art.
OH AND RULES. Like about commenting and crediting and stuff. Maybe I should make one of those little graphics like everyone has. With the little arrow towards the "comments" section.
( Here there be tables. )
( Here there be tags. )
Affiliates:
mazaltov: a screencap journal run by the lovely Marie ( banlieue). I'm going to make icons with her caps. :>
peristyle: a CDJ/icon journal. Maddy specializes in female PBs, and she has a lot of fresh and beautiful faces!
eronn_rpg_icons: was one of the first icon journals back on GJ. Eronn icons a lot of original subjects, especially females.
xcons: She has a lot of less-iconned subjects, as well as a lot of natural-looking icons made from caps! |

( Cut for washed-out cell phone rendering of oil painting! )
It's a me, Loren! And it's my first real oil painting. Well, kinda. My first oil painting in more than a monotone! There's two colors in there! That's right, count 'em: two. Four different pigments, though: alizarin crimson, cadmium red medium, cadmium yellow, and ultramarine blue. And titanium white, but that's not really a pigment.
I'm pretty excited for this class, ngl.
P.S. Holy shit, since when did I have 52 IJ friends?
P.P.S. This probably means I should post my newer icon sets, huh? |

| HELP! |
[Sep. 12th, 2008|12:40 am] |
I'm working on a watercolor painting right now, and I'm kind of happy with the way it looks right now, but I'm not 100% sure. It's just kind of... boring? I need to have it finished sometime tomorrow, but tonight would be even better. Problem is, my mom, who is my only really reliable critic, has gone to bed. My dad's no use when it comes to art.
So I'm begging for advice. Internets, what do you think?
( This is a lake in from my corner of suburbia~ )
Obviously, due to the quality, some of the color integrity and subtlety is lost, but I think you get the idea. Would you be proud to hang that on your wall? |

I'll start off with a quintet of drawings. These are from about a year ago, back when I was actually still good at this kind of thing. Each of the four landscapes is supposed to represent a person, place, or thing from The Wizard of Oz, as well as one of the four seasons. And a different time of day, too. The Dorothy one... is just Dorothy. :P The assignment was the four seasons, but I wanted to put my own spin on it, and the fifth drawing is independent.
( Somewhere over the rainbow... )
And this is Trance! For sandinista. :) This one is actually fairly recent. As in... May-recent.
( Who is also gairdie, as it were... )
P.S. My scanner is smaller than these pictures actually are. With the four landscapes, pretend like this is the full frame and the originals are widescreen. P.P.S. ANYONE WANNA ART TRADE? |

Again, an oft-iconned subject, but perhaps not like this, hmm?
I've actually made more of these, but I haven't posted them because I am lame like that. Anyway, this is the last of my previously-posted icon sets! Hurrah! I should set up some rules or something.

Other people have better icons, but I bet they don't have him taking his clothes off and kissing a dude! Also, I trimmed this batch down from when it was on GJ because I had all these repeat icons and uhh dnw.

Quite possibly the most obscure person in all of PB icondom. Best known for winning the Polish Dancing With the Stars.

He has a wonderful nose. However, despite the fact that I seem to be in the minority, I maintain that he is too gay for Snape. You know homeboy takes care of his hair.

Hooray for Asians that actually look Asian. She's a pairs skater.

idk where else to say it, so anyway. I'm not bringing over my sets of singles skaters Bebe Liang and Yebin Mok because those sets are so tiny and useless, but they'll stay up at GJ for now. |
